The schedule for the 10U-14U Coaches Skate Evaluation is posted below. Group assignments will be announced once we finish our first round of evaluations.

6U and 8U players will need to have a WHITE and a DARK jersey. Bring both jerseys to all evals.

All 10U - 14U players will be given a reversible jersey with a number at check in that is to be worn for each eval.

YOU MUST CHECK IN AT THE DESK EVERY TIME TO GET YOUR COLOR ASSIGNMENT EACH EVALUATION.

YOU MUST ALSO CHECK THE WEBSITE EACH DAY BECAUSE GROUP ASSIGNMENTS WILL CHANGE AFTER EACH SKATE

Goalie evaluations are for 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U goalies ONLY, and the dates and times can be found in the "Goalie Evals" sub-page connected to this page. All other age groups for goalies will be evaluated with their age groups on regular scheduled evaluation days.

*Anyone who tells you that coaches pick their teams or have input on their teams, is lying to you. Coaches have no idea who is on their team until they are assigned to a team. Anyone that tells you that the board makes their own teams and puts their kids on the best teams is also lying to you. The board has kids on every level, so that shouldn't need to be explained.

THE EVAL PROCESS IS AS FOLLOWS:

1. Players are all assigned a number at check-in. Evaluators cannot see the names attached to each number. Evaluators do not evaluate age levels that their own kids participate in. Players will be given a reversible jersey at check in that is to be worn for every eval. YOU MUST CHECK IN AT THE DESK EVERY TIME TO GET YOUR COLOR ASSIGNMENT EACH EVALUATION

2. The number is then entered into an app called Team Genius

3. Team Genius is the scoring app that is used to evaluate players on a myriad of data points on a scale of 1-5 in increments of .25.

Things that are scored could be stickhandling, stops, turns, engaged in play, how did they perform on the specific drill you're evaluating, how did they do in scrimmages, etc. Player 1 might score a 1.25 on a drill, but Player 2 might get a 2.5 on that same drill. So Player 2 will rank higher.

4. All the evaluators will watch a single drill through the entire evaluation to give every player the same "set of eyes" so the scores are accurate across all players. By the end of the evaluations, all drills and scores are averaged for each player number by the Team Genius app and teams/practice groups are made based on the score rankings.

5. The scores will then be broken down into practice groups. The coaches for the practice groups will be up in the “crows nest” evaluating the practice group scrimmages. The coaches will use the same Team Genius app for the practice group scrimmage evals. The practice group scrimmages are a way to make sure nobody was placed incorrectly and to try and make sure everyone fits, skills wise, in the group they are assigned. After the practice groups are finalized, the teams are assigned based on the Team Genius scores and practice group results. No coaches will be in the room when teams are selected.

6. Coaches are then called to see if they'll head coach a team and are told what team they are coaching. Coaches have no say on who is or isn't on their team. No coaches will be in the room when teams are selected.

7. Once all coaches are contacted and we have a head coach for each team, teams are released to everyone.
