The Ice Queens started their program 4 years ago with the intent of teaching hockey moms how to play hockey. It has quickly evolved to a larger group with various levels of interest in hockey. Last year we had a Ladies Learn to Play program, which did a great job getting new players started on the fundamentals of hockey. Most of them are ready to move up to the Ice Queens. This year we do not have enough ladies in this group to keep it going as a separate program. We feel it is important to continue to develop basic knowledge and skills of the game, so we are going to combine it with the Ice Queens this fall as we did last spring. We also have various participation levels within the Ice Queens program. Those that want to play more scrimmage games amongst the Queens (like the Old Sharks) and those that would like to play other ladies teams and some tournaments. Based on the responses so far we will have enough Queens to make two teams to have scrimmage games (Queens-White vs Queens-Blue). This year we will be getting approximately 25 sheets of ice for our fall session (about 4 sessions per month). We did not get a set time so the times will vary as they did last year. In order to accommodate all levels of players this is how we have set up the Ice Queens program this year. We think this new setup has something for everyone. Based on 4 sessions per month our schedule will be 4 practices in September and 2 practices and 2 Queens scrimmage games per month for October thru February. (The Queens scrimmage games will be for the full hour.) 1. Ladies Learn to Play – they will participate in only the practices (4 practices in Sept, 2 practices per month for Oct through Feb) Cost for LLTP - $125 2. Ice Queens – They will participate in all the practices and all of the Ice Queens scrimmage games. (4 sessions per month, Sept thru Feb) Cost for Ice Queens - $225
